MARSETTI ALBERTO'S WINERY
Since he can remember, Alberto Marsetti has seen himself in the vineyards together with his uncle Antonio and his father Andrea, who have always believed in the value of the Alpine Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca), a grape variety capable of expressing its full nobility even in these particular pedoclimatic conditions.
The vineyards
The terraced vineyards cover 12 hectares in the municipality of Sondrio and its surroundings, at the gates of Sondrio. The sandy soil, derived from rock disintegration, and the south-facing exposure are peculiar conditions that consistently allow the grapes to reach the right level of ripeness and minerality.
The cellar
The winery is located in the historic old town of Sondrio, in a very picturesque area characterized by narrow alleys and traditional stone houses. Here, in Scarpatetti, in an environment where the charm of the old blends with modern technology, you can taste traditional DOC wines such as Rosso di Valtellina, DOCG wines like Valtellina Superiore Grumello, Vigna Le Prudenze Grumello, and the 4AM Riserva, as well as the prestigious Sfursat di Valtellina.
Since 2020, Alberto has introduced the new IGT Alpi Retiche “IM” - io sono (I am) - line, through which he wishes to express a personal and distinctive idea of wine anchored in environmental sustainability. The priceless value of winemaking knowledge passed down through generations, combined with the support of the oenologist and the latest winemaking technologies, has enabled the creation of the red IMperfetto, the rosé IMpallidito, and the white IMpaziente.
